vmup changelog and release notes

Source of this list: CHANGELOG.md in the repo. The npm package is @nyxsky404/vmup.

For current --video / --force behavior (path arguments vs picker vs watch), see Restrict to images. The 0.3.0 bullet below is the release note, not the full type-filter rules.

0.4.0 — 2026-09-12

• vmup prune --all deletes every remote agents-* batch, including ones still inside TTL.
• --help copy: saved remotes, clipboard loop, images-only --video / --force, TTL in minutes, omit files to open a picker.
• After upload, copy the prompt to the clipboard by default (clipboard_copy = "prompt"). Set "path" or "none" in config, or VMUP_CLIPBOARD_COPY. Not asked at init. --json still skips the copy.
• Upload spinner counts bytes as they are written, not only after each file finishes. Files are streamed over ssh (cat on the remote) instead of scp.
• Update notice reads the local cache only (no npm wait on the command). A detached process refreshes ~/.cache/vmup/update-check.json at most once per 24h. Remind daily while the install is behind. Skip when stdout/stderr is not a TTY. -V / --version still never prints the notice.

• vmup init can add a profile or overwrite an existing one (shows current values; name-exists asks overwrite vs rename). New profiles ask whether to become the default.
• TTL is in minutes (default 5). --ttl, ttl_minutes, VMUP_TTL_MINUTES. Old ttl_hours is still read (hours × 60).
• Remote sweeper cron runs every minute (~/vmup/.cleanup.sh). Reinstall with vmup check --sweeper after changing TTL.
• Upload spinner shows uploaded / total size; same animation on TTY even with --json (JSON still on stdout).
• Watch mode captures Finder copies in the folder (copies keep old timestamps). Existing files at start are still ignored.
• Prompt default: Please inspect all files in … (old “images” prompt is migrated).
• --video / --force only apply when accept_all_files = false.
• Install via npm, pnpm, yarn, bun, npx/dlx/bunx, or curl of scripts/install.sh from GitHub. Update notice uses the matching command.
